Atlanta-based national nonprofit positioned for continued impact and growth in 2018
ATLANTA (PRWEB) DECEMBER 21, 2017
Hire Heroes USA, the preeminent nonprofit organization providing employment services to transitioning U.S. military members, veterans and military spouses across the United States and around the world, today announced another record-setting year, topping – for the first time – 8,000 hires of its veteran and military spouse clients. These results are even more significant because they represent a 26.5 percent increase over last year’s record hires, and a staggering 359 percent growth since 2014.
By any measure, it has been a remarkable year for Hire Heroes USA, the leading veteran service organization specifically targeting the issues of underemployment and unemployment among veterans. Among other notable milestones, the nonprofit: passed 21,500 lifetime hires, generating an estimated economic impact of $260 million; earned Charity Navigator’s coveted 4-Star rating for a third consecutive year; launched a new and exclusive job board that presents opportunities from employers seeking veteran and military spouse talent; and started new quarterly virtual career fairs.
“Achievements like these are made possible through the hard work of every member of our team. Hire Heroes USA’s personalized, one-on-one virtual service delivery model is second to none, and it’s one of the reasons we continue to see increased referrals from our veteran and military spouse alumni,” says Christopher Plamp, Chief Operating Officer and interim CEO of Hire Heroes USA. “Our continued focus on results – through process improvement and technological innovation – is what enables us to continue growing year-after-year. Our results speak for themselves.”
Plamp quickly added, “None of this would even be possible without the significant and continued support of our major funders – organizations like the Call of Duty Endowment, the Walmart Foundation, the Schultz Family Foundation, and Men’s Wearhouse/Kenneth Cole. Our corporate partners and individual donors are an integral part of the impact we are making.”
Looking to 2018, the areas that will see additional growth include Hire Heroes USA’s focus on the unique employment challenges faced by female veterans and military spouses. By forming new alliances with organizations that are focused on these issues, like the Cheryl Saban Self-Worth Foundation for Women and Girls, Hire Heroes USA continues – even now in its 10th year – to identify new opportunities to make a real and measurable impact on the lives of our nation’s veterans and their families.
