Three-Year Contribution Plan to Fund Veteran Career Transition Programs

 

ALPHARETTA, Ga. January 13, 2013 — In their continued dedication to support programs that enrich communities, Altria Group has awarded Hire Heroes USA a three year $550,000 grant to fund its veteran career transition programs and services. Hire Heroes USA is a national nonprofit organization that provides dedicated, personal assistance to transitioning service members, veterans and their spouses in order to overcome barriers to employment.

 

“We could not be more excited with the huge commitment Altria is making toward helping veterans find meaningful employment upon completing their honorable service, ” said Brian Stann, chief executive officer of Hire Heroes USA. “I was very impressed with how diligent and thorough this grant process was, which allowed Altria to recognize the efficiency and effectiveness of our organization. Hire Heroes USA will put these funds to great use and ensure hundreds more veterans find success in their new careers.”

 

The donation will help more than 2,750 veterans and spouses transition into a new career. Through a unique blend of civilian and military job expertise, Hire Heroes USA will provide one-on-one career coaching to assist veterans and spouses in their transition in to the civilian employment landscape. With Altria's support, Hire Heroes USA will confirm more than 535 hires.
