Alpharetta, Ga., November 9, 2014 – Hire Heroes USA, a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans transform their military service into civilian success, has been selected as one of 16 premiere veteran service organizations (VSOs) recognized in the Concert for Valor, co-sponsored by Starbucks, HBO, and Chase.
The Concert for Valor, held this Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, November 11th (7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT) on the National Mall in Washington, DC, is a first-of-its-kind event to honor the courage of our Nation’s veterans. Hire Heroes USA is privileged to be selected among 15 other top Veteran Service Organizations recognized for their outstanding dedication to veterans. The VSOs, selected by an advisory committee co-chaired by ADM Mike Mullen and Secretary Robert Gates, each provide exceptional service to veterans and their families in four areas vital to successful transition: education, wellness, reemployment and reintegration. Top executives from Starbucks, HBO, JP Morgan Chase and The Schultz Family Foundation were also included on the selection committee.
The Concert For Valor brings top talent in the music and entertainment industries—Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Jamie Foxx, Zac Brown Band, Metallica, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey and many others—together with the American public to show support for the courage and sacrifices made by our veterans and their families.
